Their hard work and dedication not only provide sustenance for their families but also support the entire barangay and neighboring areas.
The described costume symbolizes their profound connection to the sea and their livelihood. The wearer’s body is adorned like a mermaid, a mythical creature known for its beauty and dwelling in the ocean. The blue color of the costume reflects the purity and abundance of the sea, while the detailed design resembling fish scales showcases the diverse species of fish caught in their waters.
The headdress of the costume features two people in a boat, seemingly engaged in fishing. This detail is significant as it mirrors the real-life activities of the fishermen of Barangay Culasi.
